Luscious Lashes with Latisse

The medication is called Bimatoprost (the trade name will be Latisse). Bimatoprost has been used by ophthalmologists since 2001 for the treatment of glaucoma. It is a class of medication called a prostaglandin which is present throughout the body. Patients who were treated for glaucoma noticed that they were growing longer, fuller eyelashes. This prompted Allergan to conduct clinical trials for a cosmetic indication, which was approved by the FDA last month. Latisse will be available this Spring in our office.
