One day after otoplasty, you will see Dr. Steiger in the office to have the bandages removed. All of the incisions are checked and another bandage will be reapplied. There should be little to no pain after otoplasty. Many patients describe this as more of a soreness to the ears. A mild pain medication will be given to you, however most of our patients elect to just take extra strength tylenol if anything.
One day after the ear procedure, you will have some bruising and swelling of the ear and behind it. This is completely normal and usually peaks at two days after the procedure. It will get progressively better every day after this. The ear dressings will be reapplied and stay on for another 2 days. This will protect your newly shaped ears. Once the dressing is removed, you will be required to wear a hair / head band or a sports band around your ears to protect them from being pulled and to maintain there shape.

Hi, it's me again and if you can believe it, I just had my surgery yesterday. So one day after, I am a living, walking, beautiful eared human being. He's about to re-wrap me again, so you know I have been looking super fly in my mummy wrap.
The surgery was really no big deal, I don't remember anything. Everyone at the hospital was so nice, and it was like bing-boom and outta there! I am relatively painless and I am about to get re-wrapped and I'll see you in a few days.
