This is an interview with a patient moments before going in for her facelift surgery. Dr. Steiger highlights the location of the incisions. This video is intended to give you a better sense of what goes on the day of the facelift procedure and understand the placement of the facelift incisions.
Video Transcript:
patient - "Good morning I am ready to go inside and have my face lift done. Dr. Steiger has marked my face and gave me these 'lovely' braids. I am all ready to go. I prepared last night by having a wonderful meal of stone crabs and I can't wait to have the surgery done."
Dr. Steiger - "Here I am going to outline the location of the incisons made when performing the deep plane facelift. With the deep plane facelift zero tension is placed on the skin. Once healed, the incisions should not be noticeable. The dotted lines represent portions of the incision that are camouflaged in the hair or behind the ear. This makes them virtually invisible. The only visible portions of the incisions are marked in the solid white line. Beacuse of their location and the meticulous technique these incision are not noticeable once healed. Ther rest of the incisions of the facelift are placed behind the ear and within the scalp, making them imperceptible."
